Hello. I have a bachelor's degree in Linguistics from the University of Washington. I also have a Teach English as Foreign Language or TEFL certification and will begin my post graduate work this fall, with a concentration in English. My experience as a tutor and teacher spans a decade. In that time I have helped students with English as a Second Language, Grammar, Literature, and Composition. What is important to me is that students not only find academic success but also acquire a love of learning that lasts for their entire life. My tutoring approach begins from a study of where the student is lacking and then builds a plan that addresses those gaps. This method has resulted in students experiencing significant growth in their confidence and their skills. I have traveled to several Southeast Asian countries and have experience as teacher trainer and curriculum developer in Indonesia. I worked there at an English-speaking school for grades kindergarten to 12. The school eventually enrolled 600 students and within 10 years was accredited internationally. I live in Lynnwood, Washington. In my spare time, I like to garden, play the flute and piano, and run. I also enjoy hanging out with friends and family and traveling.
