Education

I am a graduate of The Evergreen State College; majored in business and economics, minored in art. I love tutoring because I want people to have confidence in themselves. The moment when someone realizes that they can if fact do math is wonderful. They light up inside. I want to share that with anyone who thinks that math isn't for them. There are comparable moments with all subjects, but I have found that math, more than any other, is a subject people seem to think some people can do while others can't. This isn't true. Everyone can do math! I'm here to help you discover how you learn, and show you how to apply that not only to math, but to any subject you want to pursue.

Experience

I have trained at The Evergreen State College and specialize in learning differences such as dyslexia and dysgraphia. I am a tutor, not a teacher. A teacher helps you learn new material, I help you realize you knew it all along and help to build your confidence. Resume available upon request. Notes: Important, Please Read Same day cancellations will be charged half of the fee, please give at least a day's notice. Missed appointments (20 or more minutes late) will be charged the full fee. Exceptions will be made on a case by case basis. Payment is due 48 hours before the session either electronically (Venmo) or via check. I believe tutoring should be available to all, so please feel free to ask me about my sliding scale prices.

Hobbies

I am an avid reader. One of my life goals is to have a small library of my own. A room just for books! I'm not a fan of kindles and such, I prefer to hold a book in my hands, smell the pages. There's something immensely satisfying about seeing my bookmark progress through the book. A small part of my collection exists for the sole reason that I want to share those stories with my children someday. It's a strange thing to think about at this stage of life, but the timelessness of books helps. Books are windows into different times, different worlds, maybe even into what my life will hold someday.
