Education
I got my B.A. in Mathematics with minors in neuroscience and nutrition from the University of Maine in 2007. From there, I went on to get an M.S. in Mathematics from the University of Pittsburgh in 2010. My obtaining my master's degree, I completed research focusing on applications of math to the studying of neuroscience. I also worked as a teach assistant during that time and led calculus class recitations. I've always loved studying and teaching math!
Experience
I have been tutoring students in subjects ranging from pre-algebra to calculus since 2013. Many of my students have reported improving their class grades by a full letter grade or more. I have also successfully helped students prepare for standardized tests such as the GRE, PRAXIS, SAT, and ACT. I recently took the GRE myself and scored 170 on both the quantitative and verbal sections of the test. I understand that every student is unique, and we all face different challenges when we study math. Because of this, I adapt my tutoring style and content to meet each student's individual needs. I will meet you at you current level of understanding of the subject and help you build from there to gain knowledge and confidence in math. I love that moment when students start to move from frustration to confidence!

Hobbies
I recently moved to the Seattle area from New Jersey. I'm loving all of the opportunities in the Pacific Northwest for outdoor recreation! In the summer I like to take advantage of the abundant sunshine as much as I can, and am usually in the mountains hiking on the weekends. I also enjoy cooking and spending time with family and friends.
